FAQs

Can we use the site for a day trip?

YES! We have many day trips throughout the year where groups use our site for team-building events, work conferences or training days.

Will you have on-site staff to run the activities?

Of course. Depending on the size of your group, we will have a varied number of Hands in 4 Youth specialist staff available to you as and when required. In addition to our specialist roles in areas such as archery, zip-lining and cooking, we also have staff members available to lead your group hikes or simply be available to answer any of your questions while you are staying with us.

Does your organization offer anything other than retreats and day trips?

Our conference & retreat center plays a crucial role in funding our year-round programs and summer camp. As a group using our site, you are not only providing a fantastic experience for your group, but you are also supporting our organization and helping us make a difference in hundreds of children’s lives through the year.

For almost a century, Hands In 4 Youth (formerly Vacamas Programs for Youth) has been offering award winning programs and much needed support to children and families from hard pressed neighborhoods. Since 1924, we have helped change the lives of tens of thousands of deserving children by offering quality summer camp opportunities to inner city children who would otherwise be unable to have that experience.

We had an amazing time during our stay at your retreat center in NJ. We especially enjoyed spending time with your wonderful staff. Their enthusiasm and warmth made us feel immediately welcome. In particular, we had fun eating s’mores and singing songs around the campfire. We learned a lot, as well. The challenge course helped us strengthen our teamwork and communication skills. We’ll always remember to work as a team and learn from our mistakes. We would recommend this program to anyone looking for outdoor activities in NJ. Thank you again!
